Immuron has advanced its orally delivered colostrum‑based immunotherapy, Travelan, into pre‑clinical trials towards a novel “anti‑gastro pill,” with funding support from the U.S. Department of Defense aimed at preventing gastroenteritis at the site of infection in the gut. Preclinical studies conducted at AFRIMS, NMRC, and WRAIR demonstrated that Travelan is active against key enteropathogens—including Campylobacter, Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC), and Shigella—effectively binding to pathogens and neutralising toxins in laboratory settings. These encouraging findings set the stage for human trials with potential U.S. military and civilian applications, underscoring Immuron’s strategic shift from OTC support to a clinically validated preventive therapy.
