Immuron’s lead oral candidate, IMM‑124E—a bovine colostrum–derived formulation—demonstrated positive Phase II proof‑of‑concept data in NASH patients, showing statistically significant reductions in serum lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a key driver of liver inflammation, compared to placebo. The treatment also led to meaningful declines in liver enzymes (ALT and AST), including a greater proportion of treated patients (36% at higher dose) achieving ≥30% ALT reduction versus placebo (14%) among those with elevated baseline ALT (p = 0.048), as well as trends toward lowered CK‑18, a biomarker of hepatocyte apoptosis. Importantly, IMM‑124E remained non‑absorbed in the bloodstream, underpinning its excellent safety and tolerability and supporting its development both as a standalone and combinatorial therapy for inflammation‐driven liver disease.
