Immuron announced that the U.S. Department of Defense–funded research into its over-the-counter bovine colostrum formulation, Travelan®, has successfully concluded three preclinical studies: at AFRIMS, NMRC, and WRAIR. The investigations demonstrated Travelan binds to and is reactive against all tested strains of Campylobacter, Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC), and Shigella—neutralising key bacterial adhesion factors and toxins and inhibiting pathogenic binding in lab models. These findings support the potential of Travelan as a broad-spectrum prophylactic against enteric infections of strategic importance to military deployment and open the path to further preclinical efficacy testing, particularly for Shigellosis.
