Immuron’s U.S. Department of Defense–backed clinical evaluation of Travelan® (IMM‑124E) has hit a major recruitment milestone, with 157 participants successfully randomized into the study as of January 18, 2023, despite challenges posed by the COVID‑19 pandemic and travel restrictions. Plans are in place to enroll a total of 1,302 healthy volunteers, randomly assigned in a 3‑arm design comparing Travelan®, the probiotic florastor®, and placebo across 434 participants per arm. The randomized, double‑blind, placebo‑controlled multicenter trial—spanning the U.S. Uniformed Services University, UK Ministry of Defense, and a NYC travel clinic—is designed to evaluate prophylactic efficacy against travelers’ diarrhea in high-risk deployment or travel settings.
