Immuron, an Australian biopharmaceutical company, is advancing a novel technology platform that harnesses orally delivered polyclonal bovine colostrum antibodies to target and neutralise gastrointestinal pathogens directly in the gut—without systemic absorption—offering a safer alternative to antibiotics and IV immunoglobulins. Its flagship commercial product Travelan® protects against multiple strains of Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) and has demonstrated 84% to over 90% efficacy in clinical studies. Immuron’s pipeline includes IMM‑529, a multi-target therapy designed to prevent and treat recurrent Clostridioides difficile infections in collaboration with Monash University, as well as IMM‑986, under development to decolonise vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) using pathogen-specific colostrum in preclinical models.
